An international improv comedy institution since 1993, the 23rd annual Die-Nasty Soap-A-Thon returns to the Varscona Theatre (IN OUR TEMPORARY HOME AT THE BACKSTAGE THEATRE) running CONTINUOUSLY from Friday, September 11th at 7pm until Sunday, September 13th at 9pm! Join Prime Minister Stephen Harper, the Leader of Her Majesty’s Official Opposition Thomas Mulcair, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau and Green Party Honcho Elizabeth May along with sparkling media personalities and hard hitting journalists, spouses and offspring, war-room geniuses and policy wonks, bartenders and pilots, body guards and security details, staffers and senators and THE BOYS IN SHORT PANTS! Intrigue! Corruption! Litigation! Scandal! Don’t miss our scheduled PRIME TIME DEBATES where your questions go straight to our leaders as they face off under pressure! And best of all REAL TIME VOTING BEGINS SUNDAY AT 5PM WITH RESULTS ANNOUNCED IN THE FINAL SOAP-A-THON SHIFT WHICH BEGINS AT 7PM SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 13TH! Starring all your Die-Nasty faves, including Mark Meer, Belinda Cornish, Jeff Haslam, Davina Stewart, Stephanie Wolfe, Sheri Somerville, Matt Alden, Jesse Gervais, Jason Hardwick, Kory Mathewson, Vincent Forcier, and Shannon Blanchet. Die-Nasty is joined by Toronto’s beloved Wayne Jones, London UK Improvathon colleagues Maya Sendall, and Jonathan Monkhouse, and dozens of remarkable actors from Edmonton and across Alberta and Canada. In the directing chair is Dana Andersen aided and abetted by Belinda Cornish, Mark Meer, Jeff Haslam, and Vincent Forcier. Our Improvising Technical Wizard is Brad Fischer and continuity online and off will be provided by Jim Cej. Die-Nasty is produced by Nicole Thibault. Single admission tickets for the event are $16. That means if you leave and want to return you must purchase a new ticket. Audience members also have the option of purchasing a weekend pass for $50, which lets you come and go freely throughout the entire Soap-A-Thon. Like you're the Prime Minister.
