Gardening and Backyard Shenanigans

By miranda | June 3, 2008

Yay, the garden is in!  Radishes expected in two weeks!  It even looks productive already, cause we bought some herbs and tomatos, and were given even more tomatos by Marian.  Last week was a very busy one, finishing the prep work, hauling in new peat moss to mix with the black clay, and a whole evening of rototilling (by Harry).  Then we had a bunch of friends over for a backyard BBQ on Saturday, and planting finally occurred on Sunday.  Whew!  That’s a big thing off the top of our list of things to do.

Friday was an amazing relaxing spa day, planned by Kim (who was in town for an all-too short visit), with the ultimate goal of going to the opening weekend of the Sex in the City movie.  We got some waxing done and had a great pedicure/massage, which gave us some time to sit and visit, while Dustin entertained the kids in the big WEM.  Amelia was adorable and mostly enjoying herself (thanks to a new plush snake), and Griffin is growing up too, and managed to sleep through most of the movie with us. I can’t wait to see the family again at the Fair!

My silhouette is more and more pear-shaped, and I’m well into waddling like a pregnant lady, even though I’m not really that big.  Just a bit of pelvic pain limiting my movements these days.  Spark is still pretty active in there, going head-down for an afternoon before returning to whatever position it desires.  Kicks everywhere!  Six more weeks to go…
